Role in the War: He was a general of the Union Army.
Contributions to History: He contributed to history by winning the war for the Union. He flanked the Confederates, forcing them to surrender. Pre-War: He was married to a woman named Julia and had four kids. He was a Captain in the U.S. army until he resign. Post-War: He was President of the United States in 1869-1877. People wanted him to run for a third term but he decided not to. Him and his family set out on a world tour after his presidency. |
