Petersburg
The Battle Of Petersburg Took Place In City of Petersburg, Virginia On June 15 - 18, 1864.
It Is Estimated That 11,386 Casualties Occurred In The Battle Of Petersburg. The Result Of The Battle Was The Confederate Won. The Reason That The Battle Was So Important Was Because The Union Didn’t Obtain Petersburg Because General William F. Smith And General Winfield S. Hancock Decided To Postpone Attacks On The West Side Of Petersburg Till Dawn, After Ulysses S. Grant Captured The South Side. So The Union Wasn’t Able To Capture Petersburg (An Important Transportation Hub For The South). |
